If you've read my last post you will know I have been considering changing nullshell.com's build language. I wanted to do this because of the W3C's standards; HTML 4.0, the language I used to use, did not support iframe tags. I need iframes for the YouTube videos I post.
After a debate over HTML 5 and XHTML 1.0, I finally decided on XHTML.
If any one disagrees with my choice, please, let me know. It's never too late to change.
I'll be honest with you guys; I have been dying to play with MySQL. I am so excited to have it on my server and attempt to use it to it's fullest potential- or at least give it a try.
Although, trying to start it as either mysql or mysqladmin I get a strange error.
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
Don't worry, I have Googled the problem. It didn't help. If any of you know the problem, please let me know.
Apparently mysqld, the daemon for MySQL is not found on my server. I am planning to install it from the Centos 4.4 CD soon.
For those that have not heard of it, Minecraft is an absolutely wonderful game that I have recently been addicted to. I won't go into much detail on it, I'd like you to check it out and read up on it. I've been trying to create a Minecraft server with nullshell, alongside this domain.
Java, the language needed to run the game, is not on my server. I've of course Googled the scenario and found this HowTo, and even that won't help me. The .rpm files throw me an error stating they will not install (Take note it is Sun JRE 1.6 am trying to install). If any one is willing to help out and give this challenge a go, please contact me. Either way, it's good blog material!
